Prote-J

Jabre Trawick (Prote-J) is a music producer, audio engineer and rapper from the Inland Empire in Southern California. Born March 7th, 1993 to parents Chiniqua Smith and Rojai Trawick, Pro spent the early years of his life in West Covina before moving to Rialto with his mother and grandparents at the age of 4. His relationship with music started at a young age as he was introduced to Hip-Hop by both parents. His father; also known as Mista Grimm, enjoyed a successful run as a 90's rapper and G-Funk pioneer; while his mother helped cultivate his ear by always keeping the latest albums in her rotation.
In 2006 at the age of 13 Pro was put on to Fruity Loops (Now FL Studio) while visiting his dad for the summer. When he returned home he discovered a passion for music he was previously unable to tap into as he began to bring beats to life.

By time Jabre got to High-School his new found passion for beat making had led him to start experimenting with song writing. He spent his adolescent years acquiring recording equipment, and making demos with friends and local talent to share with peers.

During his senior year Prote-J had decided that a career in music would be his pursuit after graduating.
In 2012 Jabre completed the Audio Engineering program at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA.
Around that same time he met artist's One Sixxx, Young Ceno and AJ from the 9 whom which he would test his new engineering skills on. Together they formed BlaQ Kennedy and have since released multiple albums showcasing Prote-J's early production as well as an occasional verse.

In 2016 Pro released his first solo project entitled The Prototypes, a collection of songs he had been holding onto while producing and engineering for other artists. After the release Prote-J fell back behind the scenes making beats for Independent Label Jadestone Records.

From 2016-2020 Pro stayed busy by creating two production teams; NoTypeBeatz and The Providers.
Over the four year span Prote-J produced and featured on tracks for Jadestone artists Tinigi Star, Firelane Faulty, and Joint Differences; as well as for new solo projects from within the BlaQ Kennedy Camp.
In 2021 Prote-J looks to expand on his catalog by returning to the Mic, and showcasing his new production with himself as the featured artist. Turning Pro Coming Soon
